Our services
We offer a comprehensive range of services and techniques to assist with reservoir challenges, to help de-risk and appraise prospects and identify safe storage sites
Core Description
Essential to improving understanding of facies and their variability. We are experts in all depositional environments and climates, from terrestrial, nearshore to deep marine, available at 1:50 or 1:200 scale, in hand drawn or digital format. We also specialise in trace fossil identification and ichnology.
Borehole Image Log Interpretation
Where core in unavailable, BHI can prove a useful alternative. We offer a similar approach to core description; providing a sedimentary log, identifying key facies as well as fractures and orientations.

Facies Mapping and Depositional Modelling
Analysis from core and/or BHI allows us to build maps and models. This helps us to understand reservoir presence and possible geometries and architecture. This can also be compared to modern analogues.
Petrography and Diagenesis
We can provide quantitative (point count) petrography, textural and grain coat analysis. This is an important step in understanding the porosity and permeability properties of the reservoir, both at deposition and changes through burial.
Reservoir Quality Analysis
Understanding the relation of petrographic trends to the reservoir units and their distribution. We can also integrate and compare petrographic data with other analyses such as SEM/EDS, QEMSCAN and XRD.

Correlation and Sequence Stratigraphy
We can improve understanding of reservoir connectivity and heterogeneity through building correlative frameworks. This can also help to identify potential baffles or pinch outs. This can be supplemented by biostratigraphic or seismic data.
Integrated and Multidisciplinary Projects
We work with and integrate multidisciplinary datasets (e.g biostratigraphy, geochemistry, petrophysics and seismic) to provide geologically robust solutions
Carbon Capture
We can assist in the identification and assessment of storage sites by evaluating the seal properties, understand how the formation will react to CO2 injection and identify leakage pathways.

Training
We are experienced in the delivery of bespoke training courses, including core description, sedimentology ans sequence stratigraphy.
